Welcome to visit our Home Page. The Pacific Seafarers Mission evangelizes seafarers when they come to the port of Long Beach, California, and the port of Houston, Texas, USA. Our missionaries go aboard the ship to meet sailors from all over the world. Typical activities include preaching the gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ, leading worship, and conducting Bible study in different languages. We also counsel the seafarers, comfort them, encourage them and pray with them for a better life as a sailor. In addition, we
distribute evangelism booklets and gifts to the seafarers. Finally, we encourage people to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

2015년 창립 이후로 Pacific Seafarers Mission 팀에서는 막혀가는 세계 선교의 새로운 돌파구를 위해 끊임없이 노력했습니다. 우리는 세계 최강의 미국이라는 나라 덕분에 누리는 베네핏이 일상생활 뿐 만 아니라, 복음 선교 영역에서도 잘 활용할 수 있는 천혜의 자원이라 생각하고 있습니다. 미국은 세계 모든 국가들과 모든 사람들이 한번쯤 방문하고 싶어 합니다. 그리하여 미국을 방문하는 여행객과 유학생들은 물론 무역선에 승선하여 단기간 미국 항만에 입항하는 외국 선원들도 예수님의 사랑의 영역에서 벗어나지 않는다는 사실을 인식하고 항만에서 복음의 기치를 내걸었습니다. 그리하여 지난 20여년간 수천척의 선박에서 수만명의 선원들에게 복음을 전할 수 있었고, 영혼 구원의 목표를 달성할 수 있었습니다. 그리하여 제3세계에서는 천대 받는 선교사들의 자리를 미국 항만에서 제3세계의 선원들에게 복음을 전하므로 그 자리를 조금이나마 대신 할 수 있었다고 자부합니다. 우리는 "땅 끝까지 가서 복음을 전하라."는 구주 예수님의 지상 대 명령을 조금이나마 수행 할 수 있었다고 자부합니다.
Since its founding in 2015, the Pacific Seafarers Mission team has worked tirelessly for new breakthroughs in world missions that have been blocked. We believe that the benefits we enjoy thanks to the United States, the world's strongest country, are a natural resource that can be utilized not only in our daily lives but also in the field of gospel missions. America is something that every country and every person in the world wants to visit at least once. Thus, foreign sailors who board trade ships and enter American ports for a short period of time, as well as tourists visiting the United States and foreign students, recognized the fact that they do not deviate from the realm of Jesus' love, and raised the banner of the gospel in the ports. Thus, over the past 20 years, we have been able to preach the gospel to tens of thousands of sailors on thousands of ships and achieve the goal of saving souls. Thus, I am proud that I was able to replace the position of the missionaries who were looked down upon in the 3rd world by preaching the gospel to the sailors of the 3rd world in American ports. We are proud that we have been able to carry out, albeit a little bit, the Great Command of the Savior Jesus, "Go to the ends of the earth and preach the gospel."

1. 태평양 선원 선교회의 시작
The beginning of the PSM
In October 2015, the Pacific Seafarers Mission began with Pastor Sung J Lee and 4 other ministers (Pastor John Jung, Pastor Joshua Won, Pastor Homin Lee, and Elder Sujeon Chae) participating as directors. And the elders (Elder James Liao, Elder Paul Lam, Elder Yau K Ho, Elder Brian Gau, C K & Kay Ho Foundation) belonging to the Chinese church (Bread of Life Church), who were working hard in the Long Beach harbor at the time, joined forces to make It started at the Long Beach. And Pastor Richard Graham, DOM of the Long Beach Harbor Association belonging to the Southern Baptist Church convention, and Indian Missionary Chim Mandalia, pastor Samson Chauhan who worked hard as a Long Beach Harbor Chaplain at the time, also gave strength. Thus, on October 5, 2015, the Pacific Sailors' Mission was historically born.
2015년 10월 태평양선원선교회는 이성재목사를 비롯한 4분의 사역자(정병국목사,원용선목사,이호민목사,채수전장로)들이 이사로서 참여하면서 시작되었습니다. 그리고 당시 롱비치 항만에서 열심히 사역하시던 중국 교회(Bread of Life Church)에 속한 장로님들(Elder James Liao, Elder Paul Lam, Elder Yau K Ho, Elder Brian Gau, C K & Kay Ho Foundation)이 힘을 합쳐서 롱비치에서 시작하였습니다. 그리고 남침례교회 소속의 롱비치 하버 어소시에시션의 DOM, Richard Graham 목사님이 협력해 주셨고, 당시 롱비치 항만 채플린으로 열심히 사역하신 Chim Mandalia 선교사님도 힘을 보태 주셨습니다. 그리하여 2015년 10월 5일 태평양 선원 선교회의 역사적 탄생을 이루게 되었습니다.
2. 태평양 선원 선교회의 사역 발전
Growth of the Ministry of the PSM
In the early years, the missionary work of sailors in the port of Long Beach was greatly influenced by the encouragement, prayers, and support of many supporters. In particular, the elders who served in the Chinese church (Bread of Life Church) participated in the Long Beach Harbor Sailor Mission, and in particular, the C K & Kay Ho Foundation gave great financial support, which gave great strength to the mission work. In addition, due to the passionate support of large and small supporters, the missionary society was able to stand on its own financially. As a result, we were able to visit 300-400 trade ships every year to hold gospel mission meetings, hold the Summer Gospel Expansion Project for two months (July and August) to carry out intensive ship missionary activities, and expand the winter Christmas Gospel. The project was held for two months in December and January and led many sailors to the path of salvation. Our missionaries worked intensively for this ministry. In addition, with the generous support of J C Sale's Chairman Shim Hyun-shik and Vice Chairman Kenny Seo, we received many gifts (towels, soap, perfume, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, gloves, socks, etc.) we also preached the gospel while passing it on. All these extended missions were due to the grace of the Lord Jesus and the prayers and love of our benefactors.
초기 롱비치 항만의 선원선교 사역은 많은 후원자들의 격려와 기도와 후원에 힘입은바가 큽니다. 특별히 중국교회(Bread of Life Church)에서 사역하시던 장로님들이 롱비치 항만 선원선교 사역에 많이 참여하셨고, 특별히 C K & Kay Ho Foundation에서 재정적으로 크게 후원해 주셔서, 선교사역에 큰 힘이 되어 주셨습니다. 그외 크고 작은 후원자들의 뜨거운 지원으로 인하여 선교회는 재정적으로 자립해 나갈 수 있었습니다. 그 결과 매년 300척-400척의 무역 선박들을 방문하여 복음 선교 집회를 할 수 있었고, 여름 복음 확장 Project를 두달간(7월,8월)개최하여 집중적으로 선박선교 활동을 전개하였으며, 겨울 크리스마스 복음 확장 Project를 12월 1월 두달간 개최하여 많은 선원들을 구원의 길로 인도하였습니다. 이 사역을 위해서 우리 선교사님들은 집중적으로 활동하였습니다. 또한 J C Sale회사의 심현식회장님과 케니서 부회장님의 통 큰 지원으로 선원들에게 줄 많은 선물들(수건,비누,향수,치솔,치약,샴푸,장갑,양말 등)을 받아서 선원들에게 푸짐한 선물들도 전달하면서 복음을 전했습니다. 이런 모든 확장된 선교 사역은 다 주 예수님의 은혜요, 후원자들의 기도와 사랑 때문이었습니다.

(God's New Calling)
신앙인에게 불가능은 없습니다
Nothing is impossible for a believer
Prior to establishing the Pacific Seafarers Mission, Pastor Sung Lee served as a member of Shinwoo Mission for 9 years. After that, in October 2015, he founded the Pacific Seafarers Mission and served in Long Beach port for 7 years, meeting and fellowshipping with various ministers and sharing the direction of the ministry. Among them, Indian missionaries Chim Mandalia, Pastor Samson Chauhan, Pastor Byung Sung Kim, Elder Sujeon Chae, missionary Namhwan An, missionary Joonyong Oh, Chinese Church elder James Liao, elder Paul Lam, elder Yau K Ho, elder Brian Gau, missionary Gordon Ho etc. However, from December 2020, Pastor Sung Lee was looking for a move to a city close to the Long Beach Harbor. While I was praying in the yard, God suddenly commanded me to "move to Houston, Texas." At that time, Pastor Sung Lee was shocked and bewildered because it was such an unexpected order, but my wife and I couldn't disobey God's command, so we planned to move to Houston, and finally, on April 14 of that year, we moved from California to Houston, Texas. And after moving here to Houston, little by little I understand why God asked me to go here. I will come back to this story later.
이성재 목사는 태평양선원선교회를 설립하기 전에는 신우선교회 소속으로 항만 사역을 9년 하였습니다. 그후 2015년 10월 태평양선원선교회를 설립하여 7년간 롱비치항만에서 사역하면서 여러 사역자들을 만나 교제하고, 사역의 방향들을 나누었습니다. 그들 중 인도 선교사 짐 만달리아, 삼손 초한 목사, 김병승목사, 채수전 장로, 안남환 선교사, 오준용 선교사, 중국교회의 제임스 리아오 장로, 폴 램 장로, 야우콴 호 장로, 브라이언 가우 장로, 고돈 호 선교사 등 여러분들이 있습니다. 그런데 2020년 12월 부터 이성재 목사는 롱비치 항만 가까운 도시로 이사를 모색하고 있었는데, 여러가지 어려운 사정으로 이사할 길이 열리지 않아서 하나님께 간청하고 있었는데, 그해가 다 가고 2021년 1월 12일 이사 문제로 고민하면서 뜰에서 기도하고 있었는데, 갑자기 하나님께서 "텍사스 휴스턴으로 이사를 가라"는 명령이 임하는 것이었습니다. 그때 이성재 목사는 너무나 뜻밖의 명령이라 놀라서 얼떨떨 했는데, 우리 부부는 하나님의 명령을 거역 할 수도 없어서 휴스턴으로 이사를 계획하고, 마침내 그해 4월 14일 캘리포니아에서 텍사스 휴스턴으로 이사를 하게 되었습니다. 그리고 이곳 휴스턴으로 이사 온 후 비로소 조금씩 하나님께서 왜 이곳으로 가라고 하셨는지를 이해하고 있습니다. 이 이야기는 나중에 다시 기술하겠습니다.
